AXES OF OUR OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY
Safety and health are paramount in our operations, including all our employees and contractors. Our management is governed under an Integrated Policy covering 100% of our operations.m
Our current focus is on risk and incident management through programs with the active participation of all the personnel. In other words, we have initiated and are in the process of implementing a change in the level of our Occupational Health and Safety culture from a preventive to a proactive (leading) approach.

For this new management focus we have established five pillars to consolidate the cultural change:
Empowerment and accountability
We actively involve all general and operations management as the responsible parties – for Health, Safety and Security (HSS) management in their scope of action.
Contractor management
We oversee the HSS management of our contractors in the selection, award, execution/operation, demobilization and termination/abandonment stages of their projects at our operations.
Risk management
We identify and control risks in each of our processes, which allows us to always act in a preventive manner.
Incident management
We investigate incidents by determining the causes and identifying opportunities for improvement and lessons learned, communicating them to all personnel.
Implementation of the Integrated Management System – IMS
We seek to certify our IMS to ISO 45001 within the next two years.
Industrial hygiene assesses the conditions of the work environment, identifying, evaluating and controlling the agents that could cause harm to the health of a company’s employee.
Providing a safe and healthy environment for our personnel is essential for us. For this reason, we apply industrial hygiene in our operations, identifying, evaluating and controlling those factors or agents originating from the different work stations, which may cause illnesses or poor health of our employees.

We comply with current regulations regarding the control of risk areas and exposure to elements harmful to health, and we do so through monitoring of physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic and psychosocial agents.
One of our most important pillars in Occupational Health and Safety is the management of contractors, as they represent 80% to 90% of the working population in our operations.
Our contractors’ results are our own results; therefore, we participate in the early stages of the selection, awarding, execution/operation, demobilization, and termination or abandonment stages of their activities in our operations.
We seek that our employees are always informed; therefore, we promote our activities with respect to Occupational Safety and Health among all our personnel. In addition, we provide them with communication channels that allow us to know their doubts, comments and suggestions regarding our HSS management.
Weekly reports
We share a weekly summary of the different activities performed in our operational fronts. This report is sent to all employees of the company, in order to keep them informed, and thus participate and ask questions.
Joint Committee
We have a joint committee on Occupational Safety and Health, whose members meet on a monthly basis to conduct activities to inform and analyze the actions to be undertaken in the area of Occupational Safety and Health.
“Atento” Program
We seek the active participation of our personnel through the “Atento” program, thanks to which unsafe actions and conditions in our operations are identified at an early stage. This program allows us to take corrective and preventive control actions, thus strengthening our safety culture.
Middle Management Performance Program
At PetroTal we seek to have a greater number of people informed about the importance of Occupational Health and Safety actions. Therefore, all members of our personnel perform inspections, audits and reports of unsafe actions and conditions, ensuring optimal HSS management in our operations.
Our main role is to attend and manage all matters related to the audits carried out by the supervisory entities of the Peruvian State, such as the Supervisory Agency of Investment of Energy and Mining (OSINERGMIN), the National Superintendence of Labor Inspection (SUNAFIL), the General Directorate of Captaincies and Coast Guard (DICAPI), the Ministry of Health (MINSA), among others.
Our administrative and documentary management with respect to Occupational Health and Safety is reviewed and validated by the legal area of the company, to then be timely reported to the corresponding supervisory and oversight entities.

Medical Evacuations
We have a structured procedure in place for handling contingency situations that require transferring patients and/or injured persons to the city.

We carry out training, exercises, drills, among other emergency actions, to make them feasible and put into action pertinent control actions in case of contingencies.

The Health, Follow-up and Surveillance Manual outlines the protocols and medical procedures to be followed to obtain a fitness pass for our operations, after being examined at authorized clinics.

First Aid
Our first aid room has a resolution capacity of intermediate care.
Human resources
Two physicians and six nurses are available in our operation in Block 95, who are members of professional associations and postgraduate specializations in occupational health.
Equipment
We have emergency response equipment, which allows us to treat and stabilize patients in a timely manner. Beds are available to address contingencies, in addition to a pharmacy stocked with preventive medicine.
Preventive Programs
Our health area has implemented different preventive health programs, including Healthy life, glucose control, hypertension, overweight and mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic.
COVID-19 Protocol
We have a Covid-19 Surveillance, Prevention and Control Plan, registered with the Peruvian Ministry of Health, which allows us to safeguard the health of our employees and contractors.

Our Plan for the Surveillance, Prevention and Control of COVID-19 of all our staff.
We control the entry of our personnel
For Covid-19 screening, we perform 4 diagnostic tests 10 days before the isolation of our personnel (quarantine) in our allied hotels; this lasts 7 days. Once our employees have tested negative, they undergo diagnostic tests 7, 4 and 1 day before entering our operations. Every three days, once inside the camp, all our personnel undergo diagnostic tests.
We monitor the health of our personnel
From entry to departure from our facilities. We also take temperature and CO2 saturation readings during and at the end of our employees’ stay at Bretaña Base Camp.
Basic rules of collective application
We instruct our personnel to take all preventive measures to eradicate COVID-19.
Disinfection as an ally
We frequently disinfect our work areas
