We are an oil company led and operated by Peruvians.

Our socio-environmental approach has succeeded in attracting significant foreign venture capital investment to the Loreto region and Peru, with the commitment to generate development for the country and for the oil industry. 

Our operations began in December 2017 and we are currently one of the main oil producers in the country. 

We are the operator of the license agreement for Block 95, located in Loreto, and Block 107, located in part of the Huanuco and Pasco regions, where we are conducting operations and exploratory projects.

Block 95

Block 95 is located in the northwestern area of the Peruvian territory, on the eastern slope of the Andes Mountains, in the districts of Puinahua, Capello, Maquia, Emilio San Martin and Tapiche; in the province of Requena, Loreto region, Peru. We are currently in the Exploitation Phase of the license agreement.

As of December 1, 2018, from PetroTal Peru we communicated Perupetro our Declaration of Commercial Discovery, concluding a three-year retention period and initiating the Exploitation Phase in the License Agreement for the Block 95.

On November 29, 2018 through Supreme Executive Decree N° 033-2018-EM, the change of corporate name from Gran Tierra Energy Perú S.R.L. to PetroTal Perú S.R.L. and the change of Corporate Guarantor to PetroTal Corp were approved.

The License Agreement for Block 95 was initially signed with Harken del Peru on April 7, 2005, with an effective date of June 6, 2005. Subsequently, Gran Tierra Energy Peru S.R.L was incorporated to the agreement, which completed the six exploratory periods of the agreement.

Block 107

Block 107 is located in part of the regions of Huánuco, province of Puerto Inca, and Pasco, province of Oxapampa. We are currently in the Exploration Phase of the license agreement.

The License Agreement for Block 107 was signed on September 1, 2005. On December 15, 2018, through Supreme Decree 034-2018-EM, the change of Corporate Guarantor from Gran Tierra Energy Perú S.R.L. to PetroTal Corp. was approved.

Four exploratory periods were conducted and the current fifth exploratory period will last three years, in which the drilling of two exploratory wells must be executed.

We are currently preparing the drilling permits. Furthermore, we are working on the Modification of the Environmental Impact Study for the Constitución Sur project, and the Modification of the Semi-Detailed Environmental Impact Study for the Osheki and Kametza locations.
